The Experts in Acoustic Ultrasound

CTRL Systems Inc offers comprehensive maintenance and reliability solutions for aviation and aerospace, industrial maintenance, military, energy and power. From subsea Naval platforms and offshore oil rigs to commercial jets and the International Space Station, CTRL’s technology has been applied to some of the most unique maintenance and reliability issues on (and orbiting) the planet.

We have spent the past 30 years designing, manufacturing, and delivering the world’s best acoustic ultrasound technology. Our ultrasound sensors and turnkey condition monitoring solutions have been vetted, approved, and implemented for hundreds of applications by organizations such as NASA, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air Force, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Volvo, International Paper, and Ford.

With over thirty years of experience in the field, CTRL continues to lead the way with world-class customer focus and innovative solutions that help our clients run efficiently, sustainably, and on time. Our solutions encompass best-in-class hardware, state-of-the-art cloud-based data management and analysis, and training options tailored to the needs of the organizations we serve. Whether your organization is looking to grow their reliability program or start something new, you can rely on the experts at CTRL.

Reliability is Built on Ultrasound

If you can hear your asset failing, it’s already too late. Acoustic ultrasound technology can detect impending asset failures long before any sensory inspections can. (And that includes old-school inspections with screwdrivers and stethoscopes). In fact, ultrasound condition-based monitoring (CBM) is able to identify meaningful changes in an asset’s operating condition earlier than any other advanced maintenance technology like infrared or vibration analysis.

Because of its ability to detect excess friction, acoustic ultrasound is also an ideal technology for routine lubrication inspections. Routine lubrication inspections are a vital component of precision maintenance. 40-60 % of all mechanical equipment failures stem from an unaddressed lubrication issue. Routine lubrications inspections using ultrasound CBM provide a quick and easy solution to identifying lubrication deficiencies before they affect equipment performances. When reliability teams can trend a component’s life cycle and easily identify lubrication issues or new signs of impending failure, then they can address maintenance concerns before catastrophic failure or unnecessary downtime occurs.

CTRL’s ultrasound CBM solutions are user friendly and cost effective, with a quick learning curve for new practitioners. Coupled with ultrasound’s “early warning” capabilities, all of these factors make ultrasound CBM an integral component of an organization’s existing reliability maintenance program — or the ideal cornerstone of a new one.
