Military Applications for the CTRL UL101 Ultrasound Detector
CTRL technology is being provided to military and other government organizations to meet the critical needs of readiness, improved man-hours, and evaluation of critical systems.
The performance and quality of CTRL's products have been proven and re-affirmed by NASA's selection of the UL101 ultrasound sensor for maintenance and leak detection on the International Space Station and all of the shuttles as well as several platforms by the U.S. military and prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin.
Authorized and/or Required for Use
CTRL Systems, Inc. has worked closely with NAVSEA for the recommendation and authorization of the CTRL UL101 Ultrasound Detector since the initial onboard tests in 2001 sponsored by NAVSEA 04, which recommended fleet adoption with a 15:1 ROI, saving $3.7 million and 45 man years annually. Since then, several systems have vetted and authorized the use, with some systems writing procedures for required periodic testing using the UL101.

Testing for leaks on board the Gunston Hall
The mechanic uses the UL101 to inspect for leaks throughout the ship. Compressed gas and vacuum leaks, internal by-pass leaks in valves, and leaks in gaskets in hatches cannot be present in critical systems that must be 100% operational for fleet readiness.
