Method of Ultrasound Non-Contact Early Detection of Respiratory Diseases in Fowls & MammalsThe early detection of respiratory diseases in fowls and mammals will be extremely important in the near future given the recent epidemic outbreaks from the bird flu. CTRL proposes the use of ultrasonic sensors for for the detection of ultrasonic radiation being emitted by air breathing animals that have been infected. Current conditions of breeding and raising fowls and mammals may raise the epidemic of random illness thereby devastating the efficiency and profitability of breeding farms. In the case of respiratory diseases, close proximation of the animals to each other allows for easy spreading and contracting of the disease. It is, therefore, necessary to locate and identify infected animals as quickly as possible. At the early stages of respiratory illness, acoustic signs cannot be heard audibly. However, CTRL Systems has demonstrated the ability to detect and record such conditions with a hand-held ultrasonic sensor. The use of an array of mounted sensors, which are properly positioned for maximum detectability and location, will greatly enhance current detection methods. The method is best suited for poultry farms whose spatial restrictions minimize chaotic movement and further limit current detection methods. For more information, please contact CTRL Systems. |
