Plant Engineering Product of the Year Finalist
CTRL's SoundCTRL Equipment Condition Analysis System has been chosen as a 2003 Plant Engineering Product of the Year finalist. CTRL's UL101 Intrinsically Safe Ultrasonic Sensor was chosen as a finalist in the Plant Engineering Product of the Year Contest in 2001. This model can be used in highly volatile, explosive environments for applications such as detection of potentially hazardous gas leaks in refineries, chemical plants, and restricted areas.
Founder Robert H. Roche Appointed Member of Maryland-Washington District Export Council
Robert H. Roche, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CTRL Systems, has been appointed as a member of the Maryland-Washington District Export Council (DEC), effective August 2003. This event follows the company's recent growth in overseas sales. The involvement of CTRL in the DEC will help the company continue to expand its networking and export activity, which in turn will help support CTRL's overseas distributors.
CTRL UL101 Ultrasonic Sensor Purchased by NASA for all Space Shuttles
With the recent success of the CTRL UL101 (UL101) ultrasonic inspection device on the International Space Station, NASA has decided to expand its use of ultrasonics in space - purchasing a sensor for each Shuttle in the space program. This decision demonstrates its importance for continued mission safety and equipment readiness, and the quality and performance of CTRL technology.
U.S. Commercial Service Export Achievement Award
CTRL Systems was recognized on October 7, 2002 by the U.S. Department of Commerce for significant new-to-market export sales. Congressman Roscoe Bartlett of Maryland presented the award.
CTRL Product Selected by NASA for Use on the International Space Station
On July 12, 2001, CTRL reached a significant milestone when National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) selected the UL101 Intrinsically Safe Model for use on the International Space Station (ISS). Astronauts used the UL101 for various applications including the detection of gas leaks, and it is now a permanent fixture on the ISS.
Gold Medal for Quality Performance
In 2000, CTRL was recognized as one of the government's best suppliers and awarded the Gold Medal for Quality Performance by Defense Center Richmond, which purchases more than 900,000 items used by military and other government agencies. CTRL continues to provide product to several branches of the US military and government agencies.
